I want to thank all the Manny Martinez students, parents and staff for all your hard work. Unfortunately Manny Martinez Middle School will not be open any longer. Manny Martinez Middle School an Edison Learning and DPS charter school will close at the end of the 2011-12 school year. For more information on enrollment please contact the Generations Academy at West High School.†

Discipline Referral Ladder
 
Level(s) 1 thru 4– Classroom Teacher
 
A. Student is provided an opportunity to tell his/her version of the incident
 
B. Teacher or designated staff counsels with the student
 
C. Variety of corrective actions are initiated, as appropriate, including parent/guardian consultation and intervention
 
Level 5 – House Referral/Team, Parent, Student Conference
 
A. If documented interventions at Levels 1 thru 4 were not successful, including consultation with the parent/guardian, a House referral is made.
 
B. Student is provided an opportunity to tell his/her version of the incident
 
C. The parent/guardian is notified
 
D. Designated staff person works with the parent/guardian, student and appropriate staff (or agency) to correct the behavior
 
  1. A copy of the referral describing the behavior and action taken is noted in IC Contact Log.
 
Level 6 – Administrative Level Referral
 
A. Student is referred to the appropriate administrator or designated    person
 
B. Documentation of the steps taken to intervene and change the student’s behavior is provided
 
C. Student is provided an opportunity to tell his/her version of the incident
 
D. The administrator or designated staff person schedules a conference with the parent/guardian and determines if further consultation with support personnel (agency) is necessary
 
E. As an intervention to support positive school adjustment, systematic in-school or out-of –school suspension may be utilized for a period of time not to exceed one day; systematic suspensions are written agreements with the student and parent describing behaviors for which a suspension will automatically follow
